Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. Malachi 3:10

Last Sunday, I preached an odd message for me. All I did was explain the text, and call our people to a challenge. A challenge to take inventory of faith and worship.

Malachi had the difficult task of calling the people of Israel to return to God, even though they kept up the appearances of serving God. The wall had been restored, the temple had been rebuilt and the people had “kept up” with the sacrifices. The main problem was what Paul said to Timothy, “Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof…”

I never want God to look at my life and say you remind of Israel in Malachi:

–          No discernment of God’s love (1:2)

–          No devotion in worship (1:7-13)

–          No dedication from the heart (3:10)

So what’s the challenge?

1.       Find our first Love – through the scriptures

2.       Yield ourselves to prayer, in our most precious time of the day

3.       Faithful to church, with a tenderness in worship

4.       Giving of our best – from the heart

5.       Thank God for the blessing he bestows on us

In all honesty – this is what each Christian must live their life EVERYDAY, but let’s start with today. Would you join us in the challenge?
